Our neighborhoods are full of artists from all walks of life, at every stage of their creative development. The Performance Project @ University Settlement connects young local artists and emerging professional artists to supportive environments where they can grow their practices, build relationships, and publicly present new work.

Our incubator for the next generation of citizen artists is defined by distinct, yet connected, cohorts: the Artist-in-Residency for Professional Artists, The Performance Project Fellowship for Emerging Artists (ages 18 and older), and our Performance Intensive for Young Artists (ages 14-18). We also offer dynamic guest artists an affordable and supportive opportunity to self-produce their work.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.
